How I’ve Maintained a 50 lb Weight Loss

(and Feel Better Than Ever)

Three years ago, I hit a point where I knew something had to change.

I had worked hard to lose 50 pounds—but what I quickly realized is that keeping it off is a whole different journey. I didn’t want to live in a cycle of gaining and losing. I wanted consistency. I wanted to feel good in my body every single day—not just during a “good week.”

OTHER THINGS I CONSISTENTLY DO:

  1. Drink at least 64 ounces of water a day. (I do not obsess over this but I do have a 40 oz water tumbler and I do my very best to refill it at least once so I'm drinking it twice a day.)
  2. Set a step goal and do not take any days off from meeting it. You don't take days off from eating, so don't take days off from moving! My minimum is 7,000 steps a day. I do not allow myself to go to bed unless my watch says at least 7,000 steps.
  3. SELF CARE - and I know you think this has nothing to do with physical fitness but it absolutely does. As women, we are 9/10 times pouring from an empty cup. You'll never make the time to take care of your body if you don't first take care of your heart. So, I do something for ME at least once a day. My walk is part of that regimen. Even if it's as simple as washing your face every day, add a little bit of self care into your routine and watch how it positively impacts your health goals!
